BOEING Tour
Saturday, November 5, 2011
Boeing, one of our major sponsors, hosts an annual tour for our students at their manufacturing plant. Our students were able to see the production lines of the Chinook, the cool 2-propellor helicopter you see in movies, and the V22 Osprey, a plane with a helicopter's propellors. Jeremy and Jenna tried the flight simulator and crashed a plane into the ground at 400 mph. According to Jeremy, the US Air Force won't be hiring him anytime soon! The students also walked through the wind tunnel where planes are tested - with it off, of course, despite our nicest pleads. We were all impressed with the complexity of the machines the engineers at Boeing designed, and they are role models for young engineers.

The teams were awarded these beautiful, handcrafted trophies created by the LunaTechs. Thanks to all the volunteers and participants for another successful Duel!
