Lenape District Winners and Excellence in Engineering Awards

MOE had a great time at our second district! Throughout this event our robot, CoMOEtion, was able to shine in our matches. MOE came out early on Saturday and Sunday with lots of spirit and energy and had a ton of fun dancing with the other teams. MOE was seeded 3rd and chose Anomaly 816 and Nemesis 2590 to round off our alliance. We finished the competition with a first place win with the help of our great alliance.

In addition to winning the event, MOE also received the Excellence in Engineering Award sponsored by Delphi. Though we rammed our ball collector into the wall on Sunday morning, we were able to fix our issues even with the quick turnaround time. Our programming team even developed a way to adjust our shooting based off of a pressure sensor that detected how hard or soft the ball was - on the fly. Thank you to all the volunteers and our hosts who made this great even possible!

Our comp team - many people don't know this, but we actually have four students on our drive team, which is why we call it a competition team and not a drive team. The driver, operator, human player, and strategist.

As much as we would like to brag that we were able to score 92 points in a qualifier, there were actually 21 foul points because the other alliance kept holding more than 6 balls behind their station.

Recognizing Our Volunteers

Carol and Tom are both prodigious volunteers. Tom says he's been doing <i>something</i> involving FIRST each weekend for three months, and Carol has even flown out to Utah to ref!

This was Mr. James' first event at which he was a volunteer.

Duckie flew in all the way from her new home in Florida to DJ for us.
