WHAT: A sports competition featuring 130-lb robots built by teams of high school students earlier this year. The robots play 2-minute matches of a game called Overdrive. Autonomously controlled and human controlled robots must travel around a racetrack, picking up and tossing 40-inch-diameter balls over hurdles.
first: For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology
first is a non-profit organization with a mission to inspire and excite students of all ages to pursue careers in science and technology. first sponsors programs for students from elementary school through high school.
