Computer Aided Design (CAD)

CADtastic!

It's exciting to see our robot on the playing field, but it's important not to overlook the masterminds behind the project. Introducing, the CAD Team, also known as the BEST team. Our expertise lies in the abstraction and concatenation of ideas to implement in our robot. NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE (unless we say so, since we are the law.) In all seriousness, we work very hard to make sure everything falls effortlessly and seamlessly into place. Through the use of an advanced software known as SolidWorks, we collaborate with the mechanical subteam to design and document every component of the robot down to the last screw. Our contribution plays a critical role in the team's success for the season.

However, the CAD team is not limited to just the creation of the robot itself. In fact, we are involved in many side projects, such as the designing of awards and cataloguing of mechanical parts. We also hold a monthly contest at Delware Children's Museum in which children submit their wildest ideas for a robot. We selectively pick a winner, whose design is made into a CAD model. Our team strives to motivate not only ourselves, but also the younger prospective engineers.
