Time for the big show!  By now, you have probably attended at least one regional and have seen your creation in action.  The Championship Event is bigger than any regional and a terrific finale to your rookie season.  Enjoy the grandeur and excitement of this event., make sure your team has fun, and celebrate the first of what we hope are many years of FIRST participation.

GEORGIA DOME / GEORGIA WORLD CONGRESS CENTER

The competition area is the Georgia Dome.  The pit area is organized by division and is located in the Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC).  There is an underground tunnel between these two buildings, which takes about 10 minutes to walk for the competition team.

THINGS TO DO IN ATLANTA

If your team has free time in Atlanta, there are many fun activities close by the competition venue.  These include the following:

• The World of Coke
• CNN Tour at CNN Center
• Atlanta Underground
• Stone Mountain
• The Varsity Grill
• Atlanta Aquarium

OMNI HOTEL @ CNN CENTER

Many FIRST teams will be staying at the Omni Hotel, which is walking distance from the event location.  If your team is in the Omni, prepare to wait a while for the elevators.  The volume of people causes long delays, so be prepared.

FOOD COURT @ CNN CENTER

If your team members want options for food, check out the food court at the CNN center.  It’s no longer than a 10-minute walk and includes a variety of options.
